The two companies first came together to bring the world's first Android phone to the market, named HTC Dream. HTC also made the first Nexus smartphone for Google, named Nexus One, before other companies like Samsung, LG and Asus were contracted to make Nexus devices.</span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">However, HTC and Google may be coming together once again, this time to make the first Nexus 8 tablet. According to a report by Digitimes, Google has partnered with HTC to manufacture the upcoming Nexus 8 tablet. The device is set to be launched in the third quarter of 2014, the report added citing "sources from the upstream supply chain."</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">Google plans to adopt a new design in the next-generation tablet and has thus decided to switch to a new manufacturer.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">The report also says that Google tried to contract HTC to make the first-generation Nexus 7 tablet, but was turned down by the Taiwanese manufacturer as it was trying to streamline its own phone business at the time.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">Sources also say that the Google does not plan to be as aggressive about Nexus 8 as it was with the first-generation Nexus 7 tablet. As Nexus tablets were introduced to push Android's penetration in the tablet market, a task which now seems to have been accomplished with declining marketshare of Apple's iPad.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">The report also adds, "With Nexus tablets no longer having a significant influence in the tablet market, some market watchers believe the new device could be the last tablet Google releases."</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">According to earlier reports, Google will unveil the Nexus 8 tablet at the I/O developer conference in June this year. The device will run on the upcoming Android 4.5 operating system and will be powered by Intel BayTrail processor, even though Qualcomm is said to be "striving hard for orders."</span></div>

Dell Venue 8 vs 2013 Google Nexus 7: Features and specs review

Aditya 0 Asus, Comparision, Dell, Dell Venue, Dell Venue 8, Gadgets, Nexus 7, Nexus 7 2013, Reviews, Tablets, Technology 8.2.14

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
If you had a choice between the Dell Venue 8 and 2013 Google Nexus 7 tablets, which one would you pick? Both run on Android, are modestly proportioned and fill the space for mid-range devices of their kind. Out of all the things you should be considering while picking a tablet, a few that stand above the rest. We’ve put down a few useful tips you may need before making up your mind.<br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<strong>Operating system and processor:</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
The Google tablet runs Android KitKat 4.4 currently, while the Venue 8 works with the older Jelly Bean 4.3 OS. At the same time, it doesn’t mean an update to KitKat is out of the question, though Dell hasn’t offered details on that. The Nexus 7 is powered by a 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Adreno 320 graphics. Its rival has the 2GHz dual core Intel Atom Z2580 chipset. That’s 2 points for the Mountain View device.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<img alt="Dell Venue 8" class="aligncenter" src="http://www.mobiletor.com/img/8114-302.jpg" style="border: 0px; clear: both; display: block; height: auto; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; max-width: 100%; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle;" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<span style="color: #4b4b4b; font-family: Open Sans;"><span style="line-height: 28px;">RAM, memory space and battery:</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<span style="color: #4b4b4b; font-family: Open Sans;"><span style="line-height: 28px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<span style="color: #4b4b4b; font-family: Open Sans;"><span style="line-height: 28px;">Just like the Dell Venue 8, the Google Nexus 7 2013 is also available with 16GB or 32GB internal memory. But the former scores extra for accommodating 32GB expandability. Both these chunks of Android hold on to 2GB of RAM. On the battery front, the Dell device has a 4100mAh one with no mention of usage time, while the other embeds a 3950mAh powerhouse delivering up to 9 hours between charges. Since there’s no vast difference between the batteries and how you use the tablet matters most, this shouldn’t be a make or break factor.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<span style="color: #4b4b4b; font-family: Open Sans;"><span style="line-height: 28px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<strong>Screen, camera and design:</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
Earning another point, the Nexus features a 7.2-inch 1920 x 1200p resolution touchscreen, unlike the Venue which flaunts a lower resolution (1280 x 800p) 8-inch display. The former integrates 5MP and 1.2MP cameras, while the latter has 5MP and 2MP ones. Again, minor distinction in the webcam specification. The Nexus 7 is 290g light and takes up 114mm x 200mm x 8.65mm of space. Its competitor is 130mm x 212mm x 9.5mm and weighs 350g. Neither gets our vote for aesthetics, but the Google tablet is 60g less heavy and it makes difference to some people. That’s another point</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<img alt="2013 Google Nexus 7" class="aligncenter" src="http://www.mobiletor.com/img/8114-301.jpg" style="border: 0px; clear: both; display: block; height: auto; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; max-width: 100%; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle;" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<strong>Price comparison</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
Want to go with the Nexus? It’ll cost you Rs 21,000, Rs 24,000 or Rs 28,000 for the 16GB Wi-Fi, 32GB or 32GB Wi-Fi/LTE/HSPA+ models. On the other hand, the Dell offering commands Rs 19,500 or Rs 23,500 depending on whether you pick the 16GB or 32GB capacity, respectively. Neither have 3G or 4G capability and are plain Wi-Fi flavored. Only considering the Wi-Fi options, we’re giving the cheaper Venue another point for tempting buyers with better pricing.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
<strong>Conclusion:</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">
If you’ve been keeping count, then you’ll know by now that we think the Google Nexus 7 2013 is a better buy than the Dell Venue 8 based on the OS, processor and touchscreen. And it’s not much costlier than the Dell device.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4b4b4b; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 16px; line-height: 28px; margin-bottom: 21px;">

The three single SIM smartphones revealed are namely Asus ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6. However their price and availability has not been revealed by the manufacturer.</span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #4e4e4e; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; outline: none;">
The Asus ZenFone handsets come with the new ZenUI skin. According to Asus, ZenUI is built with simplified, easy-to-access icons and menus, select themes to match the device colours, and a What's Next feature to keep a track of a user's daily schedule. The ZenUI is coated over the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, which will be upgradable to Android 4.4 Kitkat on the three announced smartphones.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; outline: none;">
<span style="color: #4e4e4e; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">As the name suggests, Asus ZenFone 4 sports a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) resolution display supported by a dual-core 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor with Quad-Thread Hyper-Threading Technology and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also features a 5-megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera optics. The internal memory storage is not mentioned by the firm but it can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card. Asus ZenFone 6 sports the similar Android Jelly Bean OS which can be upgraded to Kitkat a similar IPS display of 720p resolution but on a 6 inch screen. While the processor and RAM are similar to that of ZenFone 5, the camera sensor size has been revamped to 13 megapixel (rear) and 2 megapixel (front). <span style="color: #666666;">After teasing a dual-booting Android / Windows 8 tablet for CES 2014, Asus has mistakenly (or intentionally) leaked such a device via YouTube – the convertible tablet / laptop is apparently called Transformer Book Duet and will have model number TD300.</span><br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;">Spotted initially by Android World, the video has been quickly removed by Asus (see Source link below,) or at least made private until the product will be officially unveiled in Las Vegas. The publication describes the device as a quad-mode dual-OS device.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;">Apparently Asus has found a way to quickly move from Windows 8 to Android – the OS change takes place in around eight seconds, which certainly sounds interesting. To move between Android and Windows 8, users will simply have to place the display (tablet part) of the Transformer Book Duet in its appropriate keyboard dock.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;">The screenshot above, reportedly taken from the video, hints that users will also be able to “choose between Windows Tablet or Android tablet at one touch” – we’ll also notice there’s a spelling error there that Asus may want to correct before making the video public again.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;">Unfortunately, the video has not revealed specs and features for this Transformer Book Duet device, so we’ll just have to wait for Asus to make the product official next week at CES.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666;">Anyone looking forward to buying such devices this year?</span></div>
