The two companies first came together to bring the world's first Android phone to the market, named HTC Dream. HTC also made the first Nexus smartphone for Google, named Nexus One, before other companies like Samsung, LG and Asus were contracted to make Nexus devices.</span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">However, HTC and Google may be coming together once again, this time to make the first Nexus 8 tablet. According to a report by Digitimes, Google has partnered with HTC to manufacture the upcoming Nexus 8 tablet. The device is set to be launched in the third quarter of 2014, the report added citing "sources from the upstream supply chain."</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">Google plans to adopt a new design in the next-generation tablet and has thus decided to switch to a new manufacturer.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">The report also says that Google tried to contract HTC to make the first-generation Nexus 7 tablet, but was turned down by the Taiwanese manufacturer as it was trying to streamline its own phone business at the time.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">Sources also say that the Google does not plan to be as aggressive about Nexus 8 as it was with the first-generation Nexus 7 tablet. As Nexus tablets were introduced to push Android's penetration in the tablet market, a task which now seems to have been accomplished with declining marketshare of Apple's iPad.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">The report also adds, "With Nexus tablets no longer having a significant influence in the tablet market, some market watchers believe the new device could be the last tablet Google releases."</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #3f3f3f; font-family: georgia; font-size: 15px; line-height: 20px;">According to earlier reports, Google will unveil the Nexus 8 tablet at the I/O developer conference in June this year. The device will run on the upcoming Android 4.5 operating system and will be powered by Intel BayTrail processor, even though Qualcomm is said to be "striving hard for orders."</span></div>

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="box-sizing: border-box;">The new HTC One 2 mobile phone is rumored to be released in 2014 and for those who are looking for an alternative to their usual iPhone as well as Samsung Galaxy phone, this will be the most ideal device to invest in.</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em;">
On this article, we are going to talk about the various rumors that have come out. First, let’s start with the name.</div>
<h4 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: 'Alegreya SC', serif; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 400; margin: 0px 0px 1.33em; text-align: justify; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">
Name</h4>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">
You might wonder why there are three names that were given for this new mobile device, the HTC One 2. First of all, HTC One is the name of the first mobile device that the HTC released last year, thus, a lot of people assumed that the next device would be called the HTC One 2.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">
The HTC One 2014 came out because the new mobile device is expected to be launched in 2014 and HTC M8 is the codename that the company gave to this new device that they will launch next. Previous rumors also stated that the company has actually given the device a new name, and it is none of the three names mentioned.</div>
<h4 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: 'Alegreya SC', serif; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 400; margin: 0px 0px 1.33em; text-align: justify; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">
Hardware and Design</h4>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">
One of the most important aspects of the new HTC One 2 is the hardware as well as the design, especially since various reports have surfaced that Samsung is coming out with a new design for the Galaxy S5. This means that HTC might be in close competition with Samsung when it comes to the quality of hardware and design. As you know, Samsung is also another company known for manufacturing excellent mobile phones that could rival the HTC One flagship.</div>
<h4 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: 'Alegreya SC', serif; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 400; margin: 0px 0px 1.33em; text-align: justify; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">
Specs and Features</h4>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">
The specs of the HTC One 2 are also among the rumors that have been circulating all over the net. HTC is said to improve the specs of the new mobile phone and if rumors are true, the overall shape as well as the design of the phone will remain unchanged.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">
The display screen is expected to increase to a 5 inch size, instead of mere 4.7 inches only. Furthermore, several leaks have suggested that the new mobile phone will feature a fingerprint scanner at the back in order to rival Apple’s iPhone 5S. But then, the latest report that has surfaced in the World Wide Web has denied this claim, saying that no fingerprint reader or scanner will be found on the new device. Then again, all these are rumors and they will remain as such, not until HTC will confirm all these.</div>
<h4 style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: 'Alegreya SC', serif; font-size: 20px; font-weight: 400; margin: 0px 0px 1.33em; text-align: justify; text-rendering: optimizelegibility;">
Release Date</h4>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #565656; font-family: Arimo, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: justify;">
Another talked about rumor regarding the HTC One 2 is the release date. Most of the reports about the new device’s release date have mentioned that the company will soon launch it during the Mobile World Conference that will be happening in February of this year. On this event, HTC will present the new device and will reveal the specs and other features that the device will come with. On the following month, that’s when the new mobile phone will be available in the market.</div>

A new HTC One 2 or HTC One+ concept image included all the leaked specs and features of the upcoming smartphone.<br />
<br />
After designing Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 4 renders based on leaked patents, artist Jermaine Smit created an HTC One 2 or HTC One+ concept image based on leaked features.<br />
<br />
The latest render packs a 5-inch Full HD screen display that is quite different from its predecessor, as the HTC One is longer but the HTC One+ is a bit wider. The screen size was also increased by making bezels smaller. The handset has an aluminium casing and comes in a splash of blue flavour.<br />
<br />
Two dark bands at the top and bottom of the imagined smartphone is reminiscent of BoomSound speakers. Capacitive buttons were also kept where they are supposed to be. The render is less rounded than its predecessor.<br />
<br />
Reliable tipster @evleaks revealed in a tweet some of the specs and features of the upcoming HTC One+. The handset may not pack the latest flagship Qualcomm processor, Snapdragon 805, on board unlike what previous rumours suggested. The tip did not specify how many ultrapixels the handset will pack.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, new reports claimed that HTC One 2 may not be the name of the successor of HTC One. Android Origin reports that an XDA member named Mike1986 has claimed that the HTC M8 is, indeed, a sequel to the original One and the Taiwanese manufacturer will market the device globally as HTC One+.<br />
<br />
The said XDA member disclosed the details regarding the specs and features of HTC One+ such as 5-inch 1,080p Gorilla Glass 3 screen, a Qualcomm-made Snapdragon 805 processor, 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 6 or 8 MP UltraPixel camera with double lens, a 2.1 MP front camera, a huge battery tank of 2,900 mAh, a microSD card slot and NFC. The latest Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and HTC Sense 6.0 are also some of the expected features of the handset.<br />
<br />
Reports are circulating that the HTC One+ release date could potentially be during the Mobile World Congress next month. The basis for these reports seem to be the fact that the HTC One was also announced at last year's MWC tech event. There is a very high expectation on the successor of HTC One after the first generation of the smartphone received various recognitions for being one of the best smartphones of 2013. </div>

HTC’s flagship Windows Phone 8 device, the 8X, hit online stores well before Nokia launched the Lumia series. The 8X exudes style and elegance and is targeted at fashionable youngsters. However, does the 8X have something more to offer for the power users or is it merely a fashion accessory? Let’s find out.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<br style="margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;" /><strong style="margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Design and Build </strong><br style="margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;" />The HTC 8X features one of the best smartphone designs we’ve come across in a long time. The blend of rubberized polycarbonate and glass gives the phone a premium look and feel and the bright, vivid colour options beg a second look. Sadly, we only get the blue and black trims here in India. The 4.3-inch, Super LCD 2 display takes center stage in the front with a row of capacitive buttons along the bottom. The volume rocker and power button sit flush with the side panel and while this gives the phone a very clean look, it’s not the easiest to use. Like all WP8 handsets, the 8X also features a dedicated camera shutter button.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Around the back, we have the 8MP shooter along with an LED flash and the speaker grill, placed at the bottom. The 8X also features Beats Audio enhancement for music and video playback over headphones. In terms of ergonomics, the 8X is miles ahead of its nearest WP8 competitor. With a thickness of about 10.1mm and weight of 130g, the phone feels very comfortable in your hand as well as pocket. Due to the moderately large screen size, the entire screen is within your thumbs' reach.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">

The HD resolution on a display of this size means you get a whopping 341ppi, which is great for web browsing or catching up on HD flicks. Sunlight legibility is also good allowing you to easily read the display outdoors. HTC has bundled some of their own apps like Flashlight, HTC Hub, etc. that we’ve seen on their Android offerings. Apart from this, it’s pretty much all stock Windows Phone 8 and unlike Nokia, HTC doesn’t seem to have bothered much with any exclusive apps for the platform.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Apart from a slight stutter that creeps in every now and then, the UI is quick and fluid. The display is bright and sharp and manages to produce vivid colours. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with a dual-core Krait CPU and Adreno 225 for graphics. This, coupled with 1GB RAM, makes quite a potent combination for any type of app you throw at it.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">

The stock music player does a good job of sorting out your music library and you have the option to browse through music and videos in the store as well. Beats Audio is only activated with headphones plugged in.</div>
<div class="MT10 brd_b CTR" style="background-color: white; border-bottom-color: rgb(232, 232, 232); border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-width: 1px; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: center;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
There’s 1080p video playback support for MP4 files. There’s only 16GB of onboard storage, which is quite low considering this a flagship device. It wouldn’t have been this bad if we could expand the storage but sadly, HTC has left out that option.</div>

A splash of colour, Microsoft's latest mobile platform and a sleek new body are combined with more powerful hardware - is the 8X the phone to bring Windows Phone 8 to the masses?</div>

HTC's been in a bit of a weird position these last few years. From the days of anonymity when it made Windows phones for others, it rode the crest of the Android wave when Google's platform launched becoming, pretty much, <em>the</em>Android handset OEM of choice.</div>

HTC was up there at the starting block when Microsoft launched Windows Phone a couple of years back, and although it's competing with Samsung in this arena too – and its offerings haven't been what one would call "amazing" – HTC is clearly trying to make its voice heard.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
And what better way to do that with some pretty bright colours and a newer version of Windows Phone that the world's been waiting for for months?</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">

The HTC 8X comes in a range of colours - from muted black, to respectable red, to an elegant purple and a, quite frankly, hideous lollipop-lady yellow hue.</div>
<div class="konafilter pm-ad article02  pm-device" id="pmad-inline1" style="background-color: white; border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204) !important; border-bottom-style: solid !important; border-bottom-width: 1px !important; border-top-color: rgb(204, 204, 204) !important; border-top-style: solid !important; border-top-width: 1px !important; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px; line-height: 17.27272605895996px; margin: 5px 0px;">

We were sent the purple model and it's a beauty. There had been rumours that the red would be reserved for Verizon users in the US – but it looks like the rest of world is now getting it too.</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
First thing we noticed is how thin the HTC 8X is. Not so much an amazing feat of engineering, but a clever trick.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
With dimensions of 132.4 x 66.2 x 10.1mm, the HTC 8X is fairly average in size. But it's thinner round the edges to give the impression it's more svelte than it actually is. Not that this matters because it looks and feels thin most of the time and the slight curve around the back means it sits well, both on a surface and in the hand.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
</div>
<figure style="background-color: white; border: 1px solid rgb(178, 178, 178); clear: both; color: #333333; cursor: pointer; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px; line-height: 17.27272605895996px; margin: -1px 0px 20px; overflow-x: hidden; position: relative;"><img alt="HTC 8X review" height="224" src="http://cdn3.mos.techradar.futurecdn.net//art/mobile_phones/HTC/8X/HandsOn2/HTC_8X_review_4-580-90.JPG" style="background-color: transparent; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border: 0px; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; vertical-align: middle;" width="400" /></figure><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; width: 480px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
In fact, in the hand, it looks the same size as the HTC One X, despite the appearance given in our picture above.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
Add to that the material the HTC 8X is made of – polycarbonate, like the One X – and you instantly have in your mitts a handset that feels like a real premium device. It's a unibody design so it's all nice and neat (win) but at the expense of a memory slot and replaceable battery (fail).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
The front of the HTC 8X is taken up by the display. If you like what Nokia did with the Lumia 800, or indeed what HTC did with the One X, you'll be a fan of this too.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
The screen just looks like it's been stuck on top of the phone and adds to that premium feel. There's also a splash of colour around the earpiece to remind you that the two are linked.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
Next to this, you'll find the front-facing wide-angled camera, and the three Windows Phone softkeys at the bottom – back, search and menu.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
That screen is an HD display at 720x1280. Spread over 4.3 inches, it's easily as sharp as Apple's retina display, which no longer appears to be anything special by modern standards.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
</div>
<figure style="background-color: white; border: 1px solid rgb(178, 178, 178); clear: both; color: #333333; cursor: pointer; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px; line-height: 17.27272605895996px; margin: -1px 0px 20px; overflow-x: hidden; position: relative;"><img alt="HTC 8X review" height="224" src="http://cdn3.mos.techradar.futurecdn.net//art/mobile_phones/HTC/8X/HandsOn2/HTC_8X_review_6-580-90.JPG" style="background-color: transparent; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border: 0px; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; vertical-align: middle;" width="400" /></figure><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; width: 480px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
The top of the HTC 8X is fairly minimalist with nothing other than the 3.5mm headphone jack and the lock button. Although we're not necessarily fans of lock buttons on top of larger phones due to the awkwardness they present, here, we weren't too fussed.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
Due to the shape of the handset and the way it sits, it's easy enough to press with the index finger whether you're a left or right hander. Our only complaint is it is quite subtle and a few times, we had to feel around to find it if we were looking elsewhere. It doesn't stick out much.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
The left hand side of the HTC 8X is completely bare, whilst all you'll find down at the bottom is the micro USB charging and syncing port.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">

<figure style="background-color: white; border: 1px solid rgb(178, 178, 178); clear: both; color: #333333; cursor: pointer; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px; line-height: 17.27272605895996px; margin: -1px 0px 20px; overflow-x: hidden; position: relative;"><img alt="HTC 8X review" height="224" src="http://cdn0.mos.techradar.futurecdn.net//art/mobile_phones/HTC/8X/HandsOn2/HTC_8X_review_8-580-90.JPG" style="background-color: transparent; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border: 0px; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; vertical-align: middle;" width="400" /></figure><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; width: 480px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
The volume rocker is on the right and below it is a camera shutter key. We are always pleased to see these because it makes the art of launching the camera and taking a photo so much easier than messing about with software, no matter how good said software is.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
There's also a tray for getting that micro SIM in – but you'll need to use a special tool to open it so make sure you keep it in a safe place.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
The rear of the HTC 8X is a thing of beauty. That polycarbonate body really sets it off – as does the colour which sits beneath a silver HTC logo and another displaying the Beats Audio heritage. And of course, there's that main snapper with LED light which HTC promises will deliver amazing results.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
</div>
<figure style="background-color: white; border: 1px solid rgb(178, 178, 178); clear: both; color: #333333; cursor: pointer; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.363636016845703px; line-height: 17.27272605895996px; margin: -1px 0px 20px; overflow-x: hidden; position: relative;"><img alt="HTC 8X review" height="224" src="http://cdn1.mos.techradar.futurecdn.net//art/mobile_phones/HTC/8X/HandsOn2/HTC_8X_review_3-580-90.JPG" style="background-color: transparent; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border: 0px; display: block; height: auto; margin: 0px auto; padding: 0px; vertical-align: middle;" width="400" /></figure><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; width: 480px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
The 8X will be pitching itself right against Nokia's latest Lumia range – and with the Lumia 920 also coming in a number of colourful iterations, telling them apart may be harder for those who aren't as used to Windows Phone products.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px; margin-top: 10px; width: 480px;">
But there is a difference in that the HTC 8X doesn't come with 4G LTE connectivity in the UK, whilst the Lumia 920 does. Which means it'll likely be cheaper – and that may be its saving grace for late adopters.</div>

Not only has it been put together using some of the best components currently available, it also offers the purest Android experience possible, and gives owners access to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. Owners also will get their updates direct from Google and won't need to wait for hardware OEMs or carriers to release customized updates (or just never receive updates, as is still the case with many handsets).</div>

The Galaxy Note 3 is, as you can probably gather, a sequel to the Galaxy Note 2. It brings a whole raft of improvements to the table, and it is currently the only phone or phablet that's compatible with Samsung's new Galaxy Gear smartwatch (support for devices such as the Note 2, and the Galaxy S3 and S4 should arrive before the end of the year).</div>

Under the hood, the HTC One isn't all that different to Samsung's new Galaxy S4 — it features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU (although it runs a little slower), 2GB of RAM, and a 1080p screen — but it is also a very different beast thanks to Sense, the bold new user interface HTC has loaded into the smartphone. It also features an aluminum shell, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S4, which has a plastic shell.</div>

There's an awful lot to like about the Galaxy S4 — the powerful CPU, plenty of storage space, a user-replaceable battery, the microSD slot, the fact that it can be used as a remote control for a DVR. I used to be pretty partial to Motorola handsets back before the iPhone. They were well built, and while they relied heavily on gimmicks, delivered decent performance and long-term reliability.</div>

The Moto X is interesting, not because it is manufactured by Motorola – now owned by Google – but because it takes a new approach to computation power. Rather than one chip with multiple cores doing the work, the Moto X has a total of eight cores spread over four different chips, each doing a different thing. This is supposed to both speed up the handset and make the battery last longer.</div>
